Welcome to the Johnstown Elementary webpage. On behalf of the entire staff, we take great pride in welcoming you to your elementary school. It is an honor to work in such a great community and be part of a school system that values growth in every child.
The students have been working hard and have made a lot of academic growth! Grades K-3 will take the i-ready diagnostic for reading in math in January. We are excited to see student progress at the midpoint of the school year! We look forward to sharing progress for all students during parent teacher conferences which are scheduled for February 7th and 12th.
Students have learned many skills through the Second Step program. Second Step focuses on skills for learning, empathy, emotion management, problem solving, and friendship skills. Consistent use of Second Step language throughout the building sets students up for academic and social success.
In the first semester, students have enjoyed many special activities including the Gallery Hop, a performance from the Johnstown High School Choir, the Third Grade Musical, and of course holiday parties. On behalf of the entire staff at JES, we wish you a Happy New Year!
