Greetings from JMS!
With each new year comes new and exciting changes. What a great time for Johnstown Middle School! Along with community changes on the horizon, we have a lot happening right on the JMS Campus. We are beginning the 2022-2023 school year with new neighbors. Welcome 4th and 5th graders and the JIS Staff! We are looking forward to partnering with you for learning and fun.
We are also delighted to announce the addition of the new JMS Dean of Students, Nick Hancock. Mr. Hancock comes to us from Licking Valley where he served as a C-TEC satellite instructor. He brings with him years of experience in STEM education and an enthusiasm for helping students succeed academically and socially.
If you look in the Johnstown Middle School Coursebook, you will see two new unified arts classes, World Music and Music Theater. Both classes are being offered by new JMS Teacher, Reagan Saj. Ms. Saj will be working with 4th – 8th grade students in the upcoming year. Her background in music, as well as her experience with the Johnstown Music Program, will greatly benefit our students.
Whether your JMS student is new to the building this year or has been with us in years past, there is adventure ahead. Johnstown Middle School students can participate in many activities outside the school day. We have extra- and co-curricular opportunities; Robotics Club, Gardening Club, Student Council, and after-school math tutoring. We have a thriving Student of the Month Program, and our Kindness Ambassadors work to promote a culture of kindness among their fellow students. As our community grows, so will the options available to our students.
Thank you for sharing your student with us. We could not be happier that your family is part of the JMS Family. Middle school is sometimes a difficult path to navigate. Please know that our job is to work with you to provide your student with the best possible educational experience. Our doors are always open.
Thank you for your partnership!
