    Hello everyone. I hope you all are staying safe and healthy. For our first week of distance learning, we will be listening to the next few chapters of Percy Jackson. Please find the links below to listen aloud through youtube. I will bring a few copies of the book to school if you would like you can check one out. PLEASE LET ME KNOW. These were rented out through libraries in Columbus by me, so please take care of them.

    Week 2 For English 9-12: March 30th-April 3rd

    Hello everyone. I hope you are well. For this week of remote learning, we will be reading/listening along to the next two chapters in our novel, chapters 17 and 18.     Hello, English 9-12. I hope that everyone has continued to stay safe and healthy. Our week 3 of remote learning will begin Tuesday, April 14th. Next week, is our school’s Spring Break. You will not be provided with assignments over Spring Break, however, if you are behind in classes or are missing assignments, please use that time to get caught up. I will be checking my email throughout the week so please, reach out if you need any assistance.

    Week 4 for English 9-12: April 20th-April 24th:

    Monday, April 20th: Read or listen along to Chapter 20 I Battle My Jerk Relative. Pg 320-334.

    Tuesday, April 21st: This week your assignment will be to write an ending to the novel. You will want to begin thinking about your ending and begin writing it. You can write it by hand or start a google or word doc. On Friday the 24th, you will need to fill out the Microsoft form to turn in your assignment. 

    In chapter 20 we learned a little more about the characters, as well as the plot. Percy wounded Ares and got the Helm of Darkness back and still has the master bolt. Your assignment this week is to write the ending. Your ending will need to address ...

    What happens with the gods, will they have a war? Will the truth come out, will the weapons be returned?

    What happens to Percy, his mom, and his friends?

    Please be as thorough and creative as possible. 

    This is 30 points. Your ending needs to be at least 2 paragraphs. That is a minimum of 8-10 sentences. Take your time and include details that are relevant as well as sensory and descriptive language.

    Monday, April 27th: Please log in to your progress book to check to see if you are caught up in our class. If you are missing assignments please take this day to submit those. If you would like to re-submit any assignment for re-assessment, please reach out to me.

    Week 6 for English 9-12: May 4th-May 8th:

    We will be watching the movie this week as a class. If you choose to watch the movie with us, your assignment for the week will be to fill out the Microsoft Forms and discuss the similarities and the differences between the novel and the movie. You are also more than welcome to watch the movie on your own time, however, if you do not have access to it, please click on the Zoom link below to watch the movie.

    Week 7 for English 9-12 May 11th- May 15th:

    Since we finished up our novel we will just be finishing up the year with just some small articles. This week we will be reading an article from Scope magazine about binge-watching (which I feel like might be appropriate) right now. 

    Monday, May 11th: Check progress book to make sure you are caught up on all of your assignments (if you are missing anything please take this day to get caught up).

    Tuesday and Wednesday, May 12th and 13th: Read the article through Scope magazine. Link found here: The Truth about Binge-Watching At the top there is an option to have the story read aloud if you would like that option. If you need a password for this site try: English 9-12

    Week 8 for English 9-12 May 18th-22nd:

    This is our final week of assignments. For this week, your assignment is to check your progress in English 9-12 AND email me. 

    For this email, I am going to ask that you practice writing it formally.
