I hope you find our band webpage helpful, resourceful, and fun!  With the purchase of SCHOOLOGY in 2020 for our school district, most of the information you will need for band CLASS, you will find in our SCHOOLOGY class.   Go through CLASSLINK for all your school websites :)

ALL JMS band students have a subscription to SMARTMUSIC.  Please make sure you have joined our SMARTMUSIC class to use all the great tools and music there are available!   E-mail or send a schoology message to Mrs. Z to ask any questions.

You can also join REMIND for your band class, by your graduation year.  Check out the REMIND link on the left.

This webpage will go through changes as I learn more and make decisions on what to put on this site.  If you have any questions that you can't find on this site or schoology, please e-mail Mrs. Zirille at azirille@jmk12.org

  • Welcome Back!

Posted by Angela Zirille on 8/27/2020

It's almost the first day of school!!  I am so excited to see many faces and make music again with all of you!   Most online items will go through SCHOOLOGY, and not this website anymore.   This site will be a work in progress this year as I learn and my own knowledge grows on what to use, when, and where.   SO MANY tools out there today!  Can't wait to start banding with you all!

  • Happy 4th of July!

Posted by Angela Zirille on 7/5/2020

I'm a day late, and some of you won't see this until the fall :) but had to share one of my favorite Sousa Marches for the 4th of July.  I was in a  summer band call "NCR Band" in Dayton, Ohio when I was in high school.  We played at Old River Park at the band stand, and I loved my time with that band.  I'm often reminded of it when I get to play or hear Sousa marches.  Have a great weekend with your family celebrating the 4th.

  • Summer Stuff

Posted by Angela Zirille on 5/19/2020

Looking past our last couple of days of school, I wanted to give you some ideas to keep on practicing your instrument over the summer.  This is always a big challenge, even for me.  Summer is often a time to drop our routines, lighten up our schedules, and well...just chill.  But some of my most memorable summers were the ones where I got to do all of those things AND I felt like I accomplished something, reached a goal, or learned something new before school started in the fall.  I've uploaded a PRACTICE BINGO sheet in our band files on this web page. (Don't let the cheesy title stop you from checking it out 🤣)  Feel free to print it out and use some of the fresh ideas to keep your practice interesting and productive.  (Just like an athlete will vary their workout routine, we should vary our practice sessions.)

I will also do my best to keep the webpage updated with some fun materials, videos that can teach us songs or be helpful, and occassionally share some new music!  Check back this summer for updates 🤞

    Keep on makin' music!
