• Bitmoji ImagePlease click on your grade's band page on the left to find out more information specific to 6th grade band, 7th grade band, or 8th grade band. You will find everything you need.  I'm open to suggestions on how to send me videos or recordings of your playing/performing.  For now,  use the Office365 Form Link to the left, or you can email me at azirille@jmk12.org

As of Wednesday March 25th, I've created BAND CLASS TEAMS in Office365 and we'll use that too. (Your first "quiz" is posted in assignments: not due until Friday, April 3rd)  I don't want to overwhelm anyone, so stay calm :)  #onedayatatime

Miss you! --Mrs. Z  (stay the most up to date with my blog below! and in TEAMS!)

Good Morning JMS Bands!   We made it to FRIDAY! I hope everyone is doing well and getting better everyday at this new "remote learning" thing. Please know that I am here to help if you have any questions.   Just an email away.  (Maybe we can try some ZOOM or TEAM chats/videos after break.)

Hopefully you've noticed that I am not giving you specific days to do specific lessons.  Find the best time for you.  I have a couple "due dates" and I'd appreciate if you follow them.  Playing an instrument is a physical skill and if you stop playing...you'll lose that skill.  Our lessons are designed to finish what we need to learn before the end of the year, but you can't cram right before the due date to learn it at your best.  Try to practice at least 3 times a week.  I suggest coming up with your own practice schedule that works for you and your family.

I hope you all have a great spring break, as much as we can while we #stayathome ♥  I am going to take a "break" as well and won't be checking my email as often as a "normal" online week.   Take care and peace out-- Mrs. Z

  • Please read :) Helpful information so you don't STRESS out!

I sent all students an email about Gimkit...a free website to share rhythm games and lessons.   Pretty excited about it...BUT yesterday I found out that $250,000 is WAY TOO MUCH for 1 person to earn (not on a team)...so don't worry about earning that much.  From now on, I'll make the amount more attainable, but use that first link to assignment #1 to just get started and check it out.  (If you don't know what I'm talking about, then you might not have seen/opened the email I sent you with a Gimkit link.  Look for it please.)

Please make sure you are checking your school email (the @s.jmk12.org email in Office365).  Many teachers have made email groups for your classes and we are using your student email to create that list.

The only thing for band that is due before break is the "quiz" in Office365 Forms.  Other than that...just keep on playing those instruments.

Miss you all, take care!  Peace out-  Mrs. Z
