Mrs. Marcie Wilson, Principal

Welcome to the Johnstown Elementary website. It is with great pride that I serve as the principal at Johnstown Elementary School. It continues to be such an honor to be part of a school district and community that values the growth of each and every child.

Johnstown Schools has a rich history of providing quality education with a caring staff to support wonderful students that are full of Johnnie Pride! I value the partnerships between the school, staff, parents, and community members who work together to provide incredible opportunities for our students. As Johnstown continues to grow, I look forward to continuing these partnerships and keeping our focus on doing what is best for the youngest learners in the Johnstown Schools.

As we head into the 2022-2023 school year, Johnstown Elementary will become a kindergarten through third grade setting. The school schedule will be adjusted so that buses can travel to Johnstown Intermediate School following the drop off at JES.  Student arrival at JES is from 8:10-8:30 with school starting at 8:30. Dismissal times will range from 3:05-3:30 depending on transportation mode (walker, car rider, or bus). Within the building, kindergarten and first grade classrooms will remain on the first floor while second grade classrooms will move to the upper floor with third grade. Fourth and fifth grades will be relocated to the newly renovated intermediate school next to the middle school/high school campus. JES will be adding a Dean of Students position this fall, which will be an incredible asset to the administration, staff, and students at JES.

JES offers a variety of programs and experiences for students including all day, every day kindergarten, gifted services for identified second and third grade students, a multi-tiered system of academic and behavioral support, and a special education program. Students participate in six different related arts classes in our JOHNNIE schedule, which include physical education, music, innovation STEM learning, technology, library and new this year….art education. I am so excited for the students of Johnstown to have the experience of an elementary are program!

JES has a building-wide system of positive behavioral supports that focuses on growing safe, responsible and respectful learners who are accountable for their actions. Each month, we focus on a specific character trait. Students participate in classroom lessons to help them internalize and apply the monthly trait in their daily lives as a student. At the end of each month, we recognize students that demonstrate the character trait of the month.

As principal, my charge is to instill positive relationships and a love for learning in the students while maintaining a safe, caring, and joyful learning environment. I welcome opportunities to work with you and your student throughout the 2022-2023 school year!

Go Johnnies!
