COVID GUIDELINE DOCUMENTS

Please see link below for the newly issued COVID-19 Guidance for Licking County K-12 Schools.  The Licking County Health Department (LCHD) adopted these updates based on the new CDC guidance that was released on Friday afternoon.  The guidance considers 3 metrics to determine the Community Level of COVID-19 at the county level across the country.  The Community Level status will be updated on a weekly basis by the CDC, and LCHD is assuming it will be updated on Thursdays.  The CED has developed a tool so the public can determine the COVID-19 Community Level in their county, and the link to the tool is below and on the LCHD website.

COVID-19 Community Level by County

Here are the metrics that will be monitored weekly:

Currently the Licking County 7-day  case rate/100,000 is 68.1/100,000 and the county hospital metrics are trending downward.  Licking County is currently in the Medium level within the new system and is expected to be in the Low level in another week based on current trends.  When the Community Level is at Low or Medium, the Licking County Health Department will not be recommending masks for indoor environments, whih includes schools.  If there is a move back to a High level, LCHD will be recommending masks be worn in indoor environments, including schools.  The Johnstown-Monroe Local Schools continues to respect the rights of individuals to make medical decisions based on their own medical providers recommendations and this includes the decision to wear masks, or not.

This new guidance will be posted on the school district website which is www.johnstown.k12.oh.us.  Information regarding the varying Community levels will be presented on the website for the Licking County Health Department which is www.lickingcohealth.org

Thank you for your continued support and patience as we work through what we hope is the final phases of this pandemic.
