J-M: 2-Hour Early Release For April 8 Solar Eclipse

Johnstown-Monroe has been working closely with our community partners including the Licking County Emergency Management Agency and have determined that a two-hour early release for all students and staff on April 8, 2024, will help ensure that our buses and school related traffic will not be impacted by the heavy traffic that is expected in the immediate aftermath of the afternoon solar eclipse.

The Johnstown-Monroe School District has established an early release schedule on April 8, 2024, for students as follows:

Middle School: 12:25 p.m.
High School: 12:30 p.m.
Elementary School: 1 p.m.
Intermediate School: 1:20 p.m.

As we get closer to April 8th, watch for follow up information the school district will be providing for students to prepare for the solar eclipse. In advance, we have partnered with Intel which is ordering solar eclipse glasses for all Johnstown-Monroe students and staff.
