Dr. Lou Kramer
Dr. Lou Kramer serves as the Superintendent of Johnstown-Monroe Local Schools. Bringing a quarter-century of educational leadership experience, Dr. Kramer is dedicated to leading Johnstown-Monroe "at the intersection of tradition and opportunity" by honoring the community's rich heritage while strategically preparing students for rapid regional growth and future innovation. Grounded in visible leadership, transparent communication, and intentional relationship-building, his leadership focus centers on supporting excellence in teaching and learning, fostering collaborative community partnerships, and expanding high-impact career, workforce, and athletic and fine arts opportunities for students.
Dr. Kramer’s career spans every level of P-12 education. Beginning in the classroom as an elementary and middle school teacher and high school coach, he progressed through school and central office leadership as an elementary principal, secondary principal, and Director of Teaching and Learning before serving 16 years as a superintendent. Outside of district administration, he currently serves as adjunct faculty in the Educational Leadership program at Wittenberg University and represents the athletic interests of similarly sized schools as a member of the OHSAA Central District Athletic Board.
Given his career in education and life as a dedicated Cleveland sports fan, Dr. Kramer readily confesses to being an eternal optimist who thrives on big challenges, high hopes, and the belief that obstacles are simply opportunities to do something awesome.
